Chairman
Koomson Ferguson
Koomson Ferguson is the current Chairman of ABC and a resident of Airdrie for more than 7 years.
He is a Real Estate Broker with Melcom Realty Ltd in Calgary.
President
Simi Obasan
Simisola Obasan serves as the President of the Airdrie Black Community. She is a multi-licensed lawyer and Notary Public, called to practice in Ontario Canada, and Alberta Canada. She is also a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Holding a Bachelors Degree in Law, Bachelors Degree in Public Administration, Masters Degree in Communication and Language Arts, and a certification in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Calgary, she sits on several boards, including the City of Airdrie's Assessment Review Board.
​
She is a Principal Partner at Grandforth Legal Practitioners with services in Immigration Law and Business Law.
​
She is also a Public Service Officer with the Government of Canada, and an Instructor of Law and Faculty Member at Alberta’s Bow Valley College.
Vice President
Akin Akinniyi
Akin is an experienced social media marketing guru and versatile banking professional, excelling as a personal credit analyst, customer relations expert and personal finance advisor.

He prides himself as a "community ninja", rocking the volunteer cape at his home Church in Nigeria and Canada, and even co-founded the Airdrie Black Community. Originally hailing from Nigeria,he made the epic move directly to Airdrie, Alberta, with his family back in 2013.
Beyond solving customer issues or crunching numbers and living the corporate lifestyle, Akin is your go-to guy for travel tales, sightseeing adventures, and an unabashed love for resorts and hotels, According to him "I love to drive and in fact drove from Airdrie, Alberta to Ajax, Ontario in 2016!"

He is a personal development guru and a Christ ambassador, to him, life is all about positive vibes, change, and a philanthropic spirit.

Treasurer
Sunday Adeleye
Sunday Adeleye is a Nigerian-Canadian resident in our beautiful city of Airdrie. He is a Power Engineer by profession working in the Oil & gas industry.

Sunday Adeleye has been actively involved at various levels within the community, He was the first black politician on the ballot for the Airdrie City Council member election in 2021.
After the election, he birthed the “Airdrie Black Community” alongside Akin Akinniyi, an exclusively black community association set up to foster collaboration among its members.
He currently serves as the Treasurer on the board of the association.
​
He also serves as a citizen member on the Environmental Advisory Board of the City of Airdrie.
​

Yemisi Akaahs
Yemisi is an alumnus of Central University, Accra-Ghana, where she bagged her first degree in Business Administration (with a major in Marketing) with First Class Honours. She also holds a Master of Science in Global Human Resources Management, from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.
She is a Fraud Investigator with a leading Insurance Company in Canada. She currently serves on the Board of the Airdrie Black Community as Secretary. Her love for numbers had led her to accept the position of Treasurer in the last administration, a role that she performed with detail and excellence.
Yemisi is dedicated to causes that cater to the upliftment and empowerment of the human being, the black community, and the people at large.
She is compassionate, hardworking, and diligent; a loving wife, sister, daughter, and mother to many.

Vice President, Strategic Advisory
Ola Ifidon
Board member with over 20 years of experience in strategy and business architecture, digital innovation and transformation, project management, management consulting, strategic advisory, performance management, business analysis, and Information Technology governance.
​
An Accenture alum with proven track records in helping organizations identify and unlock value through digital innovation, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, and transformational leadership. She is passionate about creating and driving innovative and impactful initiatives that deliver value.

Ola is currently the managing partner, strategy, and business solutions at ValCon Inc., an Alberta-based management and consulting firm.
​
A lifelong learner, Ola is the first certified business analysis professional (CBAP) in the province of Alberta. She is a merit award graduate of Economics with Masters in Business Administration (MBA) Degrees from both Cornell University, USA, and Queens University in Canada.

Koby is the founder and CEO of Learning Potential Foundation.
Vice President, Finance
Temitope Olukunle
Temitope Olukunle is an active community volunteer with passion for helping individuals and families navigate financial challenges and leveraging real estate as a vehicle for generational wealth creation.
​
He has over 15 years' experience in retail and business banking, sales leadership and business development. His childhood dream was to become a medical doctor; but loves what he does by helping people achieve financial fitness (as a "financial doctor")– noting that most medical problems disappear when financial problems are resolved.
Temitope is a Mobile Mortgage Manager with the Mortgage Development Centre of Servus Credit Union where he is credited with helping over 300 families with their home financing needs in 2023.

He volunteers for other organizations such as Ruth House and several new to Canada support organizations.
​
Temitope is married with 3 kids.
Vice President, Communications & Events
Kemi Daniel-Ojo
Olukemi (Kemi) Daniel -Ojo is a mother, wife, lawyer, daughter, neighbor and friend with a heart for the people.
​
She loves to volunteer her time, treasures and talents to causes that help make life better for the human race.
​
She has been part of the Airdrie Black Community since 2021 and currently serves as the Vice President, Communication and Events.

Collia Barnaby
Collia Barnaby is a Jamaican-Canadian with a passion for serving her community and promoting the excellence of the black community.
​
She holds a BSc in Banking and Finance from the University of The West Indies and a Certificate in Estate and Trust Administration. Currently, she serves as a corporate executor and trust manager with one of the largest banks in Canada and the Caribbean.
​
Collia has been actively involved with The Airdrie Black Community since 2022.
Presently, she serves as Vice President for the Sales and Revenue portfolio, effective July 2023.
Vice President, Administration
Leighton McClean
Leighton has an unyielding passion for people of African descent. Leighton is driven by the belief that as a people, we have everything we need to thrive as a community, except each other.
As the VP of Administration, he has therefore agreed, to partner with the ABC to identify ideas and to cultivate opportunities that have the capacity to inspire “us ness” in a manner that is selfless, impactful and enduring.
Leighton is an electrical specialist (Master Electrician) with over twenty years experience in teaching, learning and school administration. He is passionate, capable and people friendly.
Vice President, Technology
Dixon Usen
Dixon is an ardent volunteer and has functioned in many capacities, including, as President of the the Nigerian South South Heritage Association , as Secretary, PRO and Chairman Akwa Ibom Association of Calgary.
Dixon also brings a strong knowledge of enabling technologies. He is an Engineer with a Masters in Communications Technologies degree from the University of Ulm, Germany and Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering. He currently runs 3 companies in Physical and Electronic Security space as well as in Logistics/ Delivery space.!
