The Airdrie Newcomer Program (TANP)

The Airdrie newcomer program (or TANP) is dedicated to addressing key issues faced by new residents to help them integrate better and thrive in Airdrie. TANP offers programs such as free webinars, seminars, workshops, and other empowerment initiatives to new residents.

TANP is structured along 3 streams: Career Integration, Immigration, and Financial Literacy.

Career Integration & Empowerment

The TANP  career integration stream is focused on helping aspiring and experienced professionals integrate and thrive professionally, improving their socio-economic outcomes. It includes career empowerment initiatives such as free webinars or seminars and access to professional career consulting services at discounted fees. The consulting services which include resume writing, and career assessment, provide a structured and proven way to navigate the job market, improve your job search, and increase your chance of landing a job.

Immigration Literacy and Empowerment

The Immigration Stream of the TANP Program provides immigration support services to new members of the Airdrie Black Community, including but not limited to general immigration wellness sessions for newcomers to Airdrie, personalized individual immigration counseling sessions that offer valuable information and guidance regarding immigration status, and related matters, and connect programs with professional immigration service providers for immigration services at discounted fees.

The Finance stream of TANP provides a hands-on experience to help new residents transition into the world of Finance in Canada in general and in Airdrie in particular. We provide valuable and relevant financial information to help you build wealth and thrive financially.

Summer Youth Empowerment Program

Kick off a successful career in the mental health and disability sector and increase your professional knowledge and confidence with this exceptionally promising summer mentorship, internship, and job placement program for youth between ages 15-18.

 

Program Details:

-        Mentor Connect: One-on-one mentoring relationship all summer from a seasoned mental health and disability professional.

-        Internship: Participate in a 3-month internship program in a reputable Airdrie-based mental health and disability organization

-        Certificate of Completion: Get a certificate of completion that gives you an advantage and recognition in the mental health and disability sector.

-        Post-Internship Job Placement: Stand the chance to be automatically placed in a relevant job position in the mental health and disability sector at the end of the mentorship and internship program.

-        Reference Opportunity: Get job references to secure any employment of your choice or desire.
