Celebrating and Showcasing Black-Owned & Black-Operated Businesses Across Airdrie and Beyond

The Airdrie Black Community (ABC) Business Directory is an initiative dedicated to highlighting, promoting, and supporting Black-owned and Black-operated businesses. These businesses contribute to the economic strength, cultural identity, and community development of Airdrie and the surrounding regions.

While ABC is based in Airdrie, this directory is not limited to businesses located within Airdrie alone.
The directory includes:

  • Businesses owned or operated by ABC Business Members, regardless of whether those businesses are located in Airdrie, Calgary, or nearby cities.
  • Businesses operated by members who live in Airdrie but conduct business outside the city.
  • Businesses operated by members who do not live in Airdrie but maintain a business presence within the city.
This approach ensures that the directory fully represents the diverse entrepreneurial footprint of ABC’s membership while supporting regional economic visibility.

Search & Navigation

The directory includes a flexible search feature that allows users to:
  • Search by business name, service category, or keywords.
  • See businesses listed in proximity to the user’s location, enhancing convenience and accessibility.
This location-based system supports residents, visitors, and partners in discovering nearby Black-led businesses—whether in Airdrie, Calgary, or surrounding communities.

Business Eligibility

To maintain the integrity and purpose of the directory, all submitted businesses undergo a vetting process. Businesses must be:
  • Black-owned, or
  • Black-operated, meaning a significant leadership, ownership, or operational role is held by a person of African or Afro-Caribbean heritage.
Only businesses meeting these criteria will be approved for listing.
