Reinforcing Inclusivity, Support, and Empowerment for All

The RISE framework is the foundation of ABC’s administrative direction for the 2025–2026 term. It represents our collective mission to strengthen the Black community of Airdrie through collaboration, growth, and representation. Each pillar — Inclusivity, Support, and Empowerment captures a specific dimension of our vision and serves as a guiding principle for how ABC engages its members and the broader community.

INCLUSIVITY

Ensuring that all members feel welcomed and valued.

ABC is committed to creating an environment where every member regardless of background, profession, gender, or personal belief feels seen, heard, and respected. Objectives under Inclusivity:

Foster belonging by recognizing the diversity within the Black community, including cultural, generational, and professional differences.
Ensure that ABC’s programmes, events, and committees are open and accessible to all members.
Promote transparent communication so that no member feels left out of important decisions or opportunities.
Actively engage new residents and families, ensuring they are integrated into the community fabric through mentorship and welcoming activities.
Advance representation in civic spaces, schools, and community organizations, ensuring that inclusivity extends beyond ABC into the larger city ecosystem.

SUPPORT

Providing resources and assistance to foster community growth.

Support is the bridge between aspiration and achievement. ABC recognizes that progress happens when we help one another rise. Objectives under Support:

Develop structured mentorship and networking programmes to connect entrepreneurs, youth, and professionals.
Create resource-sharing systems (e.g., business directory, job board, family support network) that allow members to thrive.
Provide emotional and social support initiatives, such as the conflict resolutions.
Collaborate with local organizations, city officials, and service agencies to ensure members can access the resources they need for success.
Strengthen financial and educational literacy through workshops, partnerships, and awareness campaigns.
Celebrate and recognize member contributions to encourage continued engagement and volunteerism.

EMPOWERMENT

Equipping individuals with the tools and confidence to succeed.

Empowerment is about ensuring that every member has not only the opportunity but also the capacity to make meaningful change.

Objectives under Empowerment:

Equip members with leadership training, advocacy skills, and public speaking opportunities to strengthen their civic voice.
Facilitate access to education, business grants, and career advancement opportunities through community partnerships.
Promote youth engagement in governance and volunteerism to build future leaders.
Encourage active participation in decision-making at ABC meetings giving members the power to shape their association’s path.
Showcase success stories to inspire others and demonstrate the impact of community-driven action.

Under RISE, ABC is reaffirming its belief that collective progress is the true measure of success. Our administration recognizes that unity, transparency, and accountability are central to how we serve. By aligning every committee, initiative, and partnership with the RISE framework, we ensure that ABC remains a dynamic, resilient, and community-driven organization.
